The state government has announced Alcock-Brown Neaves Group will build 80 new homes in the Karratha suburb of Tambrey, as part of its Pilbara Cities initiative.

Lands Minister Brendon Grylls announced today ABN Group would develop 5.3 hectares of surplus land at Tambrey Primary School.

ABN Group will buy the land from LandCorp, and develop the project over 32 months.

Also in Karratha, LandCorp is working with a private consortium, which includes Adrian Fini's FJM Equities, to develop the nearby Tambrey Neighbourhood Centre; and developer Pindan to deliver over 300 homes next to Karratha's Nickol estate.

LandCorp has also provided priority access to 50 residential housing lots in Baynton West for local businesses.

"Along with revitalising the town centre and residential and commercial developments at Tambrey, Nickol and Baynton West, Karratha is on its way to becoming a City of the North," Mr Grylls said.
