ABC's Eoin Cameron beats The Bunch

ABC720 has nudged Mix 94.5 off the top spot in the fiercely contested breakfast slot, according to the latest Nielsen radio survey.

The breakfast program on ABC720, hosted by Eoin Cameron, pulled an extra 8000 listeners for the time slot to creep up 1.5 per cent to an audience share of 16.3 per cent.

In comparison, Mix 94.5's audience share for The Bunch breakfast program was unchanged at 15.9 per cent. Sister station 92.9 rounded out the top three breakfast programs, grabbing 12.3 per cent of listeners, up 0.7 per cent from the last survey period.

The latest survey was undertaken between September 14 and November 22.

Nova 93.7 came in third in the breakfast slot stakes with 10.4 per cent while Fairfax-owned 6PR was fourth grabbing 10 per cnet.

In the overall ratings, Austereo claimed the top two spots with Mix 94.5 reaching 16.6 per cent and 92.9 gaining 1.7 per cent to have an audience share of 13.8 per cent.

ABC720 followed with 11.6 per cent, followed by 96fm with 10.9 per cent and 6PR with 10 per cent.
