A proposal to develop 262 apartments and a new 113-room hotel spread across several towers at Cockburn Central has been given the green light.

The Joint Development Assessment Panel has approved Golden Estate Group’s $98.6 million plans for a series of nine-storey mixed-use towers at 2-14 Commemoration Approach, Cockburn Central.

In addition to dwellings and a hotel, the proposal outlined plans for 2,282 square metres of commercial office space, as well as a child care centre.

Business News reached out to PTS Town Planning, which confirmed the development had been approved.

The project will take shape in three stages, starting with the southern portion of the site to accommodate commercial floor space at ground level, an office at level one and multiple dwellings above.

Stage two, comprising the central portion of the site will also accommodate commercial floor on ground level, an office at level one and multiple dwellings above.

The hotel component will be developed as part of stage three, on the north of the site, which will also feature apartments and commercial space, as well as a child care centre.

The proposal has been through numerous iterations with DevelopmentWA since its first Design Review Panel in January 2018, with several amendments resulting in support from the City of Cockburn.
