96FM, Nova 93.7 surge in radio ratings

Radio stations 96FM and Nova 93.7 have experienced a resurgence in the latest radio ratings survey while Mix 94.5 retains the top spot.

Latest numbers by Nielsen for the survey period between March 29 and May 2 and May 10 and June 13 show both 96FM and Nova performed strongly during the day.

In the overall ratings, 96FM boosted its listenership by 1 per cent from the last survey period to 12.1 per cent to come in third spot while Nova rose 1.2 per cent to 10.8 per cent to claim the fifth position.

Overall ratings for Mix 94.5 declined by 0.5 per cent to 14.5 per cent while sister station 92.9 lost 1.1 per cent to 13.3 per cent to sit in second spot.

6PR came in at fourth position, gaining 0.4 per cent to 11.5 per cent.

In the breakfast show period from 5:30am to 9am, both 96FM and Nova gained 1.2 per cent each to have an audience share of 11.6 per cent and 10.7 per cent, respectively.

The Bunch on Mix 94.5 held onto top spot while ABC720's Eoin Cameron retained its second place in the breakfast slot.

In the morning timeslot - from 9am to midday - 96FM was neck and neck with 94.5 with 13.7 per cent of the audience while the latter recorded a 13.8 per cent share.

Nova recorded a 1.2 per cent lift to 11.1 per cent in the same timeslot while in the afternoon period from midday to 4pm, the station jumped 1.6 per cent 11.7 per cent of audience share.
