John Gillam heads up Wesfarmers’ fertiliser and chemicals business, Wesfarmers CSBP Limited. He first worked for Wesfarmers in 1997 as a manager, business projects, and has secured significant business trans-actions, including playing an instru-mental role in Wesfarmers’ successful $2 billon hostile takeover bid for Howard Smith in 2001. Mr Gillam was responsible for the integration of Howard Smith’s corporate operations and industrial and safety distribution businesses into the Wesfarmers group.
