Capt Suzannah Vaughan, 30, got a taste for salt-water waves on board a Leeuwin training vessel in 1989.

The experience was to change her life. Following her dream to become a ship’s captain, Ms Vaughan became the youngest female master mariner in WA.

Her responsibilities cover all marine operations on the Vanguard Floating Production Storage and Offtake facility located at the Woollybutt field located on the North West Shelf of WA.

Part of her responsibility is the safe off-take of oil, with each off-take worth approximately $33 million.
