$350m in new contracts for Monadelphous

Monadelphous Engineering has announced new contract wins in Western Australia and Queensland collectively worth $350 million.

In WA, Monadelphous has won a new contract with Woodside Petroleum for mechanical commissioning at the Pluto LNG plant on the Burrup peninsula.

The company also won a three-year contract to provide minor capital services at BHP Billiton’s Worsley Alumina refinery project.

The Worsley deal extends a continuous services relationship between BHP and Monadelphous which commenced in 2004.

Other deals announced today included a $100 million three year deal with the BHP billiton Mitsubishi Alliance for dragline and shovel shutdown work at the Bowen Basin coal operations, and two contracts worth a further $100 million for civil, structural and mechanical work at Rio Tinto’s Kestrel Mine near Emerald, Queensland.

Monadelphous said it also won two contracts with BMA’s project delivery group for ongoing construction on various sites in the northern region of the Bowen Basin.

“These contracts further reflect the importance we place on developing long-term relationships with quality customers,” managing director Rob Velletri said.

“They demonstrate our continuing involvement in major projects and our commitment to support growth in the Queensland coal industry.”

At 2:00PM (WST) Monadelphous stock had dropped 5 per cent to trade at $17.49.
