2005 Federal Budget Analysis

Tuesday, 3 May, 2005 - 22:00
Following the tabling of the 2005/2006 Federal Budget, the Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA) will hold a budget discussion forum on Friday May 13 at the University Club. The forum will analyse the key provisions and measures of the Federal Budget and assess their likely impact on business, trade and economic conditions over the coming financial year. A panel of expert commentators will evaluate the Federal Government’s economic strategy and reform agenda for addressing key national issues related to money and fiscal policy, inflation, tax and interest rates, unemployment, labour force, productivity, infrastructure spending and growth prospects. The panel includes Ernst & Young partners Ross Lyons and Harold Payne, Curtin University professor David Black, WA Business News editor Mark Pownall, BankWest economist Alan Langford and the John Curtin Institute’s Greg Craven, with a keynote address from State treasurer Eric Ripper. Tickets are $66 for CEDA members and $75 for non-members, or tables can be booked to obtain a discount. For more information, please phone Lisa Scaffidi on 9228 2155 or email LisaS@ceda.com.au.
