Hon Colin Barnett MLA  |  Premier of Western Australia
Deidre Willmott   |  Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Western Australia
Mark Barnaba  |  Macquarie Group Limited

Moderator: Peter Kennedy | Business News

Hon Colin Barnett MLA

In his roles as Premier, Minister for State Development and Minister for Science, Colin Barnett is determined to ensure that economic growth supports all West Australians.  He is committed to attracting investment to reflect WA's growing importance as a leading regional economy in the Asia Pacific Region and Indian Ocean Rim.  As he enters his ninth year in office, and with a State election looming in 12 months' time, expect the Premier to lay out a vision for the State's future and his government's role in it.

Deidre Willmott

Deidre Willmott has been Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Western Australia (CCI) since March 2014.  Prior to this, she held a number of senior roles in industry and government, including Chief of Staff to two Western Australian Premiers Richard Court and Colin Barnett, General Manager of the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee and Director of External Relations at Fortescue Metals Group.  She was also Director of Policy at CCI where she campaigned for reforms in areas including retail trading hours and liquor licensing laws.  Deidre is leading CCI’s vision for Western Australia to be a world leading place to live and do business. She believes that a robust and vital business sector is essential for a strong and vibrant community.

Mark Barnaba AM

Mark Barnaba serves as both Chairman of Macquarie Group, Western Australia and as Chairman and Global Head, Resources Group, Macquarie Capital. He is also Chairman of The University of Western Australia’s Business School Board and an Adjunct Professor in Investment Banking & Finance at the UWA Business School.   In 2015, Mark was named a Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to the investment banking and financial sectors, to business education, and to sporting and cultural organisations.
