Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research
The Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research is the WA Business News Charity Partner for 2018.
Founded in 1998 the Perkins is Western Australia’s leading medical research centre investigating the major diseases impacting adults, in particular cancer and heart disease.
The Perkins is a not for profit organisation improving the health of the community through innovative research supported by business and industry, philanthropists, UWA and the public hospital sector.
More than 300 scientists, doctors and researchers work collaboratively in our research facilities strategically located alongside Western Australia’s major teaching hospitals, QEII, Fiona Stanley and within RPH, so that our science has as direct a relationship as possible to patient care.
We test new treatments and drugs, developed here and overseas, at our trial facility, Linear Clinical Research Ltd, providing hope for Perth patients and helping bring new drugs to market as safely and quickly as possible.
The Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research brings together world class experts, doctors scientists and students to defeat our major diseases, fuelled by the determination to deliver better patient outcomes faster.
