Join us for breakfast as BHP Nickel West Asset President Eddy Haegel discusses some of the challenges faced, as well as highlighting the future of mining operations.

Eddy Haegel was appointed to the role of Nickel West Asset President in March 2015 with a mandate to execute a business turnaround of the Asset. Nickel West's subsequent transformation led to the creation of a lean, high-performance and innovative culture focussed on value creation.

Eddy's commercial, technical and operational experience in BHP spans 30 years and four commodities.

In his prior role, Eddy was Vice President Production – Mines for BHP Iron Ore from January 2011. From 2006 to 2010, Eddy was the Chief Operating Officer and Asset Lead for NSW Energy Coal.

Eddy's earlier experience was spent in BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA), where he held a variety of engineering, operational, maintenance and business improvement roles culminating in his appointment as General Manager at Norwich Park mine in 2003.

He has a First Class Honours degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Queensland and has completed the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School.

If you are unable to attend, and cannot find someone to take your place, cancellations for all bookings will be accepted up to 14 days prior to the event and a full refund will be issued provided that Business News has acknowledged notification of your cancellation.

If Business News does not receive notification 14 days prior to the event, there will be no refund for cancellations.
