Taking the helm in 2000 as Chief Executive Officer of Youth Focus, Jenny built Youth Focus from a staff strength of 3 with a budget of $240,000 to 65 staff and a budget of over $8 mil.
Her extensive working experience spans across Asia and Australia, in a variety of corporate and public sectors with sales and marketing being one of her strengths.
She has chaired a number of charities, working with children and youth on the streets of Asia to children living in Domestic Violence in WA.
Her dedication in preventing youth suicide in Western Australia spans many years with the latest initiative in spearheading the Young Men’s Project in WA working with Professor Patrick McGorry, Professor Helen Christensen and Professor Donna Cross. Jenny won the 2013 Western Australian of the Year Community Award in recognition of her commitment and outstanding contribution in changing the lives of vulnerable young people in the Western Australian community. She was also one of four and only woman WA State Finalist at the 2014 Australian of the Year Award. Jenny was awarded the Ernst & Young 2008 “WA Social Entrepreneur of the Year” and in 2009 Local Chambers Business Person of the Year.
Jenny is an Executive Director of the Youth Focus Board, as well as the only Western Australian on the Board of Suicide Prevention Australia, the national peak body for suicide prevention. She is a Board member of Ministerial Council of Suicide Prevention in WA, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
