Western Australia's Energy Market Future

Western Australia's energy market is undergoing significant transformation as the State responds to key challenges of climate change, energy security and energy affordability.

The Strategic Energy Initiative 2031, released last year, outlines a vision for the State's energy future. But how will this vision be realised? And how can we ensure the energy industry maintains its role in driving the state's economic development and contributing to the community's high standard of living?

This Breakfast by the Bay brings together a panel of Western Australian business executives from industry and government to consider how energy market reform can strike a balance between social responsibility and industry needs. The panellists will also discuss the role the private sector and governments can play in meeting the energy needs of both businesses and residents of Western Australia.

The panel includes:

  • Dr Mark Barnaba CitWA, Chairman, Macquarie Group in Western Australia
  • Anne Nolan, Director General, Department of Finance
  • Steven Landry, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, ATCO Australia
  • Jason Waters, Chief Executive Officer, Verve Energy
