26 March 2014 to 30 March 2014
Perth will play host to a series of action packed world-class road cycling races from 26th to 30th March 2014, as Velofest (previously called ‘Perth’s Festival of Cycling’) returns for the second year.
Velofest is WA’s only dedicated cycling festival, offering a variety of events for all levels of riders; ranging from professional, semi professional, masters, para-cyclists, amateurs, casual and family cyclists.
The events will attract amateur and elite riders from Australia and overseas to compete - offering spectacular and unique spectator opportunities, showcasing the city and its broader regions to a national and international audience. Velofest gives everyday cyclists the opportunity to experience the speed and excitement of elite cyclists by riding with the professionals on the same course.
In 2013, Velofest (Perth’s Festival of Cycling) was awarded a silver medal in the Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards in the Major Festivals and Events Category, proving it to be a great success in it’s inaugural year. In 2014, Velofest is set to be even bigger and better, with new additions to the program including; a Gran Fondo, Criterium Race and paracycling two-stage race.
