The Great Bike Ride is back again in 2013, and riders will once again have the opportunity to fundraise their way around the river and ride in the event for free! Cyclists can choose to pedal the leisurely 53km course, the challenging 106km course or the woodside 10km family ride. 2012

Remember this ride is about raising the profile and fundraising for our event charities - Heart Foundation, St John of God Horizon House and Hope for Children - and there is still time to fundraise and donate to their cause.

What is it all about?

The Santos Great Bike Ride for Charity was established in 2004, and has quickly become one of Western Australia’s most iconic mass cycling events. The event is owned by the Rotary Club of Perth and raises vital funds for the Horizon House, Hope for Children and the Heart Foundation.

In 2012, the Santos Great Bike Ride raised over $120,000.

Fundraise for the three Charities and ride in the Santos Great Bike Ride for Charity for FREE!!!

Charity Info: Hope for Children focuses on empowering local communities to best care for their vulnerable children and break the vicious cycle of poverty. We support a wide range of projects which provide the children with food, shelter, education, medical care and life skills. By addressing the psychological needs of the children, the work of Hope for Children goes beyond many of its counterparts. The carers participate in programs to enhance their parenting skills and ability to become economically self-sufficient. Through these programs, the children and their carers are building a brighter future for Ethiopia. The Heart Foundation is Australia's leading not-for-profit heart health organisation, dedicated to reducing the dreadful effects of the number of people living with, or dying from stroke, heart disease and blood vessel disease. Since being established in Australia in 1959, the Heart Foundation has funded world-class cardiovascular research, supported health professionals in their practice, developed health promotion activities, informed and educated the public, and assisted people with cardiovascular disease.  Heart disease is the leading cause of death in Australia accounting 34% of all deaths, killing one Australia every 10 minutes. Providing long-term accommodation and support, Horizon House accommodates young people aged 16 to 22 from various backgrounds. Having experienced significant – often complex – problems in their life such as family conflict, physical harm, mental abuse or homelessness, Horizon House gives at-risk youth a home in which they can achieve and aspire to a better future.

Young who live in Horizon House come from a variety of different backgrounds and are given long-term accommodation and support to further their education and employment opportunities. With six locations in Western Australia, our houses provide a caring family environment that encourages respect and responsibility. This fosters trusting relationships that help young people realise a brighter future and fulfil their potential.
