The Pilbara Pulse Economic Summit
This year's Pilbara Pulse Conference is set to change the way the nation views the Pilbara. Once just a mining service town, Karratha is transforming into a vibrant and diverse 'City of the North' becoming a place that people are proud to live, work and invest.
Unprecedented investment from the Australian Government as well as the State Government's Royalties for Regions Pilbara Cities program has accelerated the development of key infrastructure and facilities in Karratha.
However, the transformation is far from over. Sustained growth in the resource sector shows no signs of slowing, continuing to place significant pressure on the demand for labour, housing and commercial space. These factors are contributing to the day-to-day challenges faced by businesses great and small.
The 2012 Pilbara Pulse Economic Summit will place the Pilbara on a national stage attracting nationally-acclaimed business analysts and political leaders to share our story.
The 2012 Pilbara Pulse is designed to seek opportunities for strategic intervention by all tiers of Government and the private sector to create a legacy for the future of the Pilbara, to foster local business growth and explore opportunities for diversification of the economy in Karratha and districts.
I look forward to you joining us in the shaping a strong legacy for the future of Karratha and the Pilbara.
