CPA Australia, together with the UWA Business School and Curtin Business School, proudly presents the Philip Brown Public Lecture in Accounting with Professor David Yermack.

Professor David Yermack is the Albert Fingerhut Professor of Finance and Business Transformation at New York University Stern School of Business and Director, NYU Pollack Centre for Law and Business.

Professor Yermack and NYU Law Professor Geoffrey Miller designed the world's first course on Bitcoin: 'The Law and Business of Bitcoin and Other Cryptocurrencies.'

In 2014 The Wall Street Journal reported that "starting to assess bitcoin from an academic angle while the currency is still in its infancy allows Yermack and Miller to set the agenda for future study of the subject."

Professor Yermack's research on Bitcoin has been reported in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg and Business Week, among other outlets.

Join Professor Yermack as he discusses the Bitcoin currency. To register, please email Catherine.vogel@uwa.edu.au by Monday 20 July.
