Emerging Directors' Briefing: Tales of turnarounds- case studies on insolvency
Turning businesses around requires a skill set most boards do not always inherently possess, and often a change agent is required to provide the stimulus and drive to implement change. A successful restructure or turnaround involves a strategic review, financial analysis, human resource management, psychological counselling, team work and advanced negotiating skills.
It is also not for the faint hearted, as significant cost cutting and job losses are often required. But it is all for the greater good, to save the viable core, to turnaround the company, and to put it into a position where it can often prosper again.
Perth Director, Bryan Hughes will work through some case studies of restructuring assignments he has undertaken. The case studies will give an insight into the process, the challenges, the priorities, the opportunities, and the determinants of success and failure.
