St Barbara’s Day Luncheon

St Barbara’s Day pays tribute to the patron saint of mining and geology.Traditionally held on the first Friday of December, the WA Mining Clubs members and their guests take the opportunity to pause and appreciate the people dedicated to the mining industry, and celebrate the rich endowment of mineral wealth that underpins much of our economy and provides hope for the future. It is a time for fellowship and fraternity, and to remember those who have been lost in our industry throughout the past year.

In 2015, St Barbara’s Day will be celebrated on Friday 4 December.

Our speaker for this prestigious event is Andrew Harding, Chief Executive Officer Rio Tinto -Australia, China and Korea.His presentation will be: “Some Myths and Realities of the Industry That Help Build the Modern World”.

Due to its timing, St Barbara’s Day also provides an opportunity to draw our annual raffle in support of the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
