Event Date:
18 June 2014 to 19 June 2014
Time:
08:00am
Venue:
Perth & Port Hedland

An interactive conference run simultaneously between Port Hedland and Perth.

I am delighted to invite you to participate in a new, collaborative approach to planning in the Pilbara.

Following the direction outlined in the State Planning Strategy there needs to be a more adaptive and collaborative approach to planning for the future. This is to ensure that our endeavours are focused to achieve the best possible outcomes for lifestyle quality and distribution of prosperity identified in the Pilbara Cities Vision.

I have challenged the Pilbara Transformed 2035 Designscape Symposium to map a path towards transforming the region and its cities in a way that anticipates an enriched Pilbara life in 2035. Our focus must move beyond the obvious problems to collaborate on the transformation that is possible with emerging ideas and better practices.

What might have once been considered impossible or unlikely may soon become obvious pathways to offer the people of the Pilbara some amazing opportunities.

The symposium will draw together research and information from across government, industry, academia, and the community.

In this way it should be possible to achieve greater insight into different perspectives and start the momentum to occur and achieve better futures for the Pilbara.

Your inventiveness and participation is considered essential to the success of the Symposium. So I hope you will join us for this dynamic event.
