Perth is currently undergoing a number of exciting transformations that will help to secure our position as a vibrant and connected city.

But with population growth predicted to continue at unprecedented rates, infrastructure must keep pace with growth to ensure that Perth remains a highly liveable and globally competitive region. With growing frustration about longer commute times, urgent attention is needed to improve our roads and public transport system. Decisions made or deferred now relating to future commute options will have huge impact in the years to come as 3.5 million people try to move around to live, work and play across the region.

We invite you to join us for lunch as we seek to learn from international guest speaker Lyle Bicknell, Principal Urban Designer at the City of Seattle and to discuss the impact of the government's deferral of the MAX light rail project.

The impact of light rail affects much more than how we get around, it can be the catalyst for getting people out of their cars and to facilitate urban regeneration. Lyle will share the experiences of Seattle and Vancouver where high capacity transit networks have transformed both urban and suburban areas.
