You’re invited to experience an MBA for a Day (well an evening anyway)

In these uncertain times, you may be thinking about ways to develop business skills and the personal network needed to boost your career. Perhaps you’re thinking of returning to University to complete an MBA. The following is a normal MBA teaching session… but open to the general public, to allow anyone thinking about doing an MBA the opportunity to feel and experience the excitement, the discussions, the dialogue and the collaborative learning that characterizes a robust MBA.

“YOUR NETWORK IS YOUR NET-WORTH!”
[This session is usually offered in the Unit MBS538, “Organizational Behaviour and Management”]

Session Description
We all know that Networking is crucial for our careers and social life but in our busy life we feel that we have very little time to invest in building new relationships or staying in touch with our current network. So, how do you build (and maintain) a strong community of friends, contacts, mentors, colleagues, former customers?

This powerful 90-minute session is designed to help all-level professionals to expand their communities, overcome the “lack of time” and other barriers. It draws on the latest practical research on networking (Ferrazzi, Gitomer, HBR, etc) and it is a hands-on, 100% practical session – not a boring power point dissertation!

The session will cover the following areas:
• Why do you need a broad Network of People Supporting You – and how to create it?
• Expanding your Circle & Mixing Networks
• Never Eat Alone: Share your Passions!
• Follow Up or Fail. Stay in Touch with your Network – All the Time.

Speaker – Dr Jose M. Alcaraz
Originally from Barcelona, Dr Alcaraz has been successfully delivering this session for several years in different cities, including Shanghai, Dubai, Santo Domingo and Perth, and in some of the top 20 Financial Times ranked business schools. He teaches in Murdoch’s MBA and usually coordinates the Units Organizational Behaviour and Management (MBS538) and Business, Society and the Environment (MBS530).
