The 2015 Intergenerational Report found a significant workforce participation gap between men and women. The impact of this gap on Australia’s economy is huge; better utilisation of the female workforce would drive greater economic growth and productivity.

Lack of access to affordable childcare is often cited as an important constraint in labour force participation of young women in Australia. So would access to cheap, affordable childcare improve the participation of young mothers?

Professor Rammohan’s seminar will draw on her research and policy engagement to analyse the trends in Australian female labour force participation and the effectiveness of various childcare reforms on workforce participation of mothers.

Join Professor Rammohan at this special CBD lunch-time event as she shares her findings.
A light lunch will be provided.
