Be inspired, entertained and connected at the Kimberley Writers Festival in Kununurra from 7 to 9 September 2018.

This is a one-of-a-kind writer’s festival held in one of Australia’s most stunning and dramatic remote locations, providing an opportunity to meet authors and special guests in an informal environment. It’s a completely different experience to the big city writer’s festivals. Now in its 13th year, the 2018 program will include workshops, readings, a literary breakfast, music, and comedy. The annual Sunday Ord River Cruise champagne brunch and storytelling returns, and is usually a sell-out.

Guests at this year’s Kimberley Writers Festival include national bestselling romance author Fiona Palmer; DC and Marvel Comics writer Shane McCarthy; documentary maker, bush tukka advocate and published writer Samantha Martin – a descendent from the Jaru and Kija people from the North East Kimberley region; Fulbright scholar, award-winning novelist and childhood education advocate Ahmad Fuadi; storyteller extraordinaire Glenn B Swift; and internationally-selling award-winning Victorian author Anne Crawford.

The festival is supported by writingWA with funds provided by State Government through the Departments of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, Primary Industries and Regional Development, and the Royalties for Regions program.
