ICON WA: Dive into Design Thinking

Are you curious if design thinking lives up to the hype? Why not dive in and try it? Join us for a 90-minute design thinking introductory challenge exploring a light-hearted yet practical topic whilst engaging with design thinking tools and concepts.

The aim of this workshop is to harness creative ideas whilst applying design thinking principles. There will be no wrong answers and you will be encouraged to push your thinking outside the box. You might be surprised what ideas circulate when you are given space to explore. Perhaps you will be inspired beyond the session to apply design thinking to professional and everyday challenges, allowing you to try a different approach to problem-solving. This event is designed to be 1-part hands-on as you will step through the tools, and 1-part virtual as we will be guided by a video from Standford's d .school. Your ICON WA committee members who have previously completed this course will co-facilitate this session and answer questions. You will be working in teams of two to learn more about design thinking. The best idea and prototype as decided by the participants will win a prize - in addition to bragging rights!
