HIA Economic Outlook Luncheon

The WA market is enduring something of a perfect storm: new building approvals continue to fall
sharply, dwelling prices are in reverse and there is considerable slack in the rental market.
All down cycles do come to an end. But when can the Perth market look forward to brighter times? Will
the two interest rate cuts so far this year offer any support?
HIA Senior Economist Shane Garrett will size up the current situation in the WA market and assess the
prospects for both the new home building and renovations markets over the next number of years.
Also speaking at this event will be the Hon. Colin Barnett, MLA Premier; Minister for Tourism;
Science who will offer his insights into the economic outlook moving into the 2017 election year.
