Overview

Now that the Asian Century is upon us, Western Australia's trade relationship with China is the envy of all other states.

Join CEDA as our expert panel of business leaders deliver important advice and insights into China - the new nation and the new paradigm.

Seventy per cent of Australia's exports to China are now coming from WA, and 80 per cent of Chinese investment in Australia is being spent in WA. A trade and investment agreement established between WA and China in September 2011 has opened the door to boost two-way trade relations.

The rise of the world's second largest economy has demonstrated the prospects and plentiful rewards; however, complacency can be risky.

How can Australian businesses continue to capitalise on WA's flourishing trade relationship with China, while limiting the threat of China's rapid growth declining? What benefits does the WA-China trade relationship secure for our state economy, and how can we attract long-term investment, rather than the current race to the finish line?
