COMPETING FOR CAPITAL
A Canadian Perspective
The value of Western Australia’s mineral and petroleum industry in 2011–12 reached just over $106 billion, an increase of 4.4 per cent over the previous financial year.
Sustaining this growth relies on continuing discoveries that will lead to new projects and expansions. Investment in exploration and emerging producers is essential to the future of the WA resources sector.
CME has invited special guest Kevan Cowan, President of Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) Markets and Group Head of Equities to discuss the challenges in accessing capital and the barriers for attracting investment. Mr Cowan brings a unique understanding of how policies which act to incentivise investment can be utilised to secure this future growth.
Mr Cowan will present an overview of the TSX, compared and contrasted with the ASX. He will discuss the recent trends impacting access to capital and innovations in this field.
