CITY BUILDING WITH HON PAUL FLETCHER MP
CITY BUILDING - WITH HON PAUL FLETCHER, MP MINISTER FOR URBAN INFRASTRUCTURE AND CITIES
Perth is on a journey to find its identity as a global city, and set to hit 3.5 million people in the next 30 years. To achieve this, and to ensure that our economy prospers, we need to continue attracting people to our shores. Successful capital cities are the engine room of the state economies and the cultural hearts. Therefore, we must plan ahead to create well connected, active urban centres where our communities can thrive.
Changing technology, lifestyles and demographics will all play a part in influencing how we grow and what we need to deliver. Planning for this growth means getting the balance right between infill and greenfield areas. Appropriate planning and funding is required to deliver infrastructure whilst we also need to ensure that we provide the types of homes and places that people want to live in efficiently, sustainably and affordably.
Government and industry must collaborate in order to deliver a city for the future.
Join us as Paul Fletcher MP shares his knowledge and insights into the changing face of our cities and the Australian Government’s plans for the funding and rollout of new urban infrastructure. Minister Fletcher will examine the way that Australia’s urban policy needs to adapt to the changing needs of society, and share with the WA development industry key information to assist us in better understanding the Government’s focus for the future of our cities.
