CEDA: Rabia Siddique: Ethical decision-making and leadership
Join CEDA as an inspirational woman, Rabia Siddique, shares her story of resilience, courage and determination, and explains why ethical leadership and the level of female leadership need to be improved.
OVERVIEW
Rabia will share her experiences and learnings, as well as her subsequent roles as a criminal and human rights lawyer pursuing justice against terrorists and hate crimes. She will also explore the different qualities women bring to leadership, and why these qualities are so important in the modern business environment.
Rabia Siddique made worldwide headlines when she challenged one of the UK's most powerful organisations. While a Legal Officer in the British Army in 2005, Rabia and a male colleague assisted with the rescue of two SAS soldiers from Iraqi insurgents in Basra in a terrifying ordeal.
While her male colleague received a Military Cross for outstanding bravery, Rabia's part in the incident was covered up by the British Army and Government. In a fight for justice, she brought and a landmark discrimination case against the UK Ministry of Defence - and won.
