CEDA: National Agribusiness Series: Leadership in agriculture

Event Date:
20 June 2014
Time:
11:30am
Venue:
Hyatt Regency Hotel

Join CEDA as we assemble a panel of agriculture's most influential leaders to discuss how the industry can capture the benefits of the Asian dining boom.

EVENT OVERVIEW
The Australian agricultural sector is considered world-leading in terms of quality, output and innovation. An unprecedented opportunity exists to capitalise on the rapidly expanding upper-middle class population in Asia by supplying premium, safe food; however the Australian agricultural industry will need strong leadership to seize this opportunity before other countries do.

CEDA's panel will discuss what would need to happen for Australia to become a major food bowl for Asia, including:

  • What policies are required at Federal and State level?
  • Are current R&D funding and innovation levels adequate?
  • What role should foreign investment play?
  • Is northern WA/Australia part of the long-term plan?
