AmCham's Perth Innovation Mission

Join us on our Innovation Mission throughout Perth to discover the research centres and industry leaders revolutionising the way we do business. Spend the day with other high calibre professionals for the opportunity to network and see how your business can capitalise in this fast moving economy.

We will explore Perth’s innovation ecosystem by bus with site visits commencing at the University of Western Australia Innovation Quarter (UWAIQ), where we will get the opportunity to see a range of new initiatives to stimulate innovation in our state, predominantly for the Oil & Gas Industry, LNG operations and environmental sustainability. At Curtin University we will discover the Cisco Internet of Everything Innovation Centre (CIIC) where the initiative is to promote industry and research collaboration that fosters growth, provides jobs and helps build more sustainable economies. Additionally, we will get to experience the new state of the art technology with an interactive guided tour of the Hub of Immersive Visualisation and eResearch (HIVE) and The Pawsey Supercomputing Centre.

Lunch will be provided along with a networking opportunity at the new Flux incubator and accelerator, co-working space on the Terrace, and from there we will continue our mission with a few of our industry partners. A guided tour of Austal by the CEO himself, David Singleton, will showcase how their business has flourished by applying innovative thinking. Our final site visit will explore the transforming robotic industry with GE Oil & Gas and Mary Hackett will speak about how GE has harnessed innovation to maximise gas investment and enhance its competitive advantage.

We will conclude the day with a major networking, drinks and canapés reception at Deloitte with guest speaker, Hon. Bill Marmion, Minister for State Development; Finance; and Innovation.
