'The Future of Urban Mobility'
The way we move around our cities is undergoing a rapid transformation, creating opportunities for government, industry and the community. To truly unlock the power of Uber's technology and build for the future, Uber is taking a collaborative approach to policy making, with the goal of making cities better for everyone. Kate Debenham, State Manager - WA for Uber will share her unique insights into the future of urban mobility. Kate leads Uber's operations which focus on providing riders with high quality and reliable transport, while unlocking flexible earning opportunities for driver-partners. By leveraging Uber’s powerful technology and talented team, Kate has collaborated with Perth’s key policy makers and planners to help solve congestion and transportation problems in our city. Prior to joining Uber, Kate worked in management consulting and used her expertise in strategy and public policy across Australia, Asia and Africa. Her drive and passion for solving big problems led to her co-founding 'More than Ideas', a Perth-based consultancy, specialising in delivering service and policy design solutions. With her strong background in international relations, development and finance, she's passionate about finding ways to improve our cities and make them more sustainable.

Ruth Hatherley, CEO and Founder, Moneycatcha
'How WA can produce the next Atlassian'
Ruth Hatherley, CEO and Founder with Moneycatcha will share her unique insights on how Western Australia can produce the next Atlassian. In doing so, she will address many key obstacles and challenges encountered along the way, including:
- taking the leap to becoming an entrepreneur
- starting your own business armed with just an idea
- creating a successful tech startup
- obtaining funding without a technology background
- innovating within your own organisation
- attracting a global company as a client
Ruth has more than two decades of experience in the financial services sector, with stints at the Commonwealth Bank and Mortgage Choice. She started Moneycatcha with the aim of developing world-first technology to revolutionise how financial institutions assess risk and originate loans. Today, its patent-protected solutions hold exciting potential not only for banks but for industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, retail and many more - as Moneycatcha has developed an industry agnostic, platform agnostic answer to address pain points facing many of these businesses (of all sizes). Moneycatcha's digital platforms, Homechain and Regchain, use blockchain technology to deliver improvements in speed, security and compliance for financial institutions and consumers.
