A household name in the United States, energy major ConocoPhillips have now been operating in Australia for more than 17 years, with their projects in Darwin and Gladstone recognised as pioneering for both the LNG industry and Carbon management.
As they eye development of new upstream projects to backfill Darwin LNG, Australian President Chris Wilson outlines the possibilities, challenges and avenues to further LNG investment in a high-cost, low oil price environment.
Chris Wilson is President, Australia with ConocoPhillips Australia Pty Ltd having assumed the role in June 2015. Chris has 26 years of industry experience working in a variety of management and technical roles on a broad range of international oil and gas assets.
Chris began his career with ConocoPhillips in 1990 working for ten years as a reservoir engineer in the UK, Houston and Dubai. Since 2001, Chris has held strategy and management roles in London, Dubai, Alaska, Aberdeen and Houston. Most recently he has held the role of General Manager for Central North Sea running ConocoPhillips J-Block operations and development activity and as manager of Strategy, Planning and Portfolio Management in ConocoPhillip's corporate headquarters in Houston.
