AWA Water Workshop
Opportunities for localised catchment management, water capture and reuse
Reduce, reuse, recycle - a mantra that has been immensely successful in relation to material waste both in its advertising power and the simplicity of its approach. How can we use the same basic principles to improve water sustainability in our local catchments?
The Australian Water Association, supported by Emerge Associates and Josh Byrne & Associates, are holding a workshop on the techniques and technologies to help maximise the water potential of local catchments at various scales, from individual residential dwellings, to community buildings, through to large urban developments. The workshop will cover the important water planning considerations, provide basic tools to understand constraints and understanding cost-benefit analysis. It is aimed at giving all parties involved in catchment design the knowledge needed to realise best practice water management, and is targeted to local and state government (engineering, environmental, landscape and planning practitioners), consultants, property developers, students and home owners. The afternoon will include technical presentations, an interactive workshop and will be followed with an opportunity for broader discussions and networking.
