The Institute in conjunction with the Department of Regional Development and Lands is delighted to have secured renowned demographer, KPMG Partner and best-selling author, Bernard Salt.

Based in Melbourne, Bernard has established a reputation as a trend forecaster for business and government. In 2010 Bernard produced KPMG's Future Focus report aimed at business and government which looked at development options for Australia in the 2010s. He is a best-selling author, a twice-weekly columnist with The Australian newspaper, a regular on the Australian speaking circuit, and a business advisor. He also heads a group of consultants within KPMG providing demographic advice to business and government.

WA's population is set to double to 4.9 million by 2050, and with Perth gaining at least 2,000 residents a fortnight, government have implemented a number of initiatives to support this growth.

This seminar will provide you with a deeper understanding of the issues surrounding current regional growth strategies and how to position yourself and your organisation to take advantage of the opportunities they present over the next 25 years.

Following the keynote addresses, a panel of leaders from government and industry will provide their insights on this key subject and participate in a hypothetical case study predicting regional WA's future.
