Held in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), this 2020 forum discusses pertinent issues in Australia’s productivity growth and implications for various parts of the economy particularly the subdued manufacturing industry. Australia is currently experiencing low productivity growth, which has been declining since 2003. This has been a topical issue of late and there has been increased pressure for new reforms to boost Australia’s competitiveness globally as the country’s resources investment boom peaks and terms of trade soften. Join us for this interactive session with leaders from industry.

JOHN ROTHWELL AO – CHAIRMAN AND FOUNDING DIRECTOR OF AUSTAL LIMITED
 John Rothwell is a Founding Director of Austal, an ASX listed global defence prime contractor. Austal designs, constructs and maintains revolutionary platforms such as the Littoral Combat Ship and Joint High Speed Vessel for the United States Navy, as well as an extensive range of patrol and auxiliary vessels for defence forces and government agencies globally. John has over 30 years experience in boat and shipbuilding, and has played a major role in the development of the Australian shipbuilding industry.

KEN PAYNE - PARTNER & MANAGING DIRECTOR, THE BOSTON CONSULTING GROUP (BCG)
Ken Payne is a Partner and Managing Director in BCG’s Perth office, where he focuses on Lean operations, specifically as applied to industrial goods. He serves as the Australia and New Zealand node for Lean manufacturing and leads BCG’s practice in metals/mining operations for the Asia-Pacific region. He has been with BCG since 2000 and has worked on a large number of consulting assignments for metals/mining companies and vertically integrated groups globally.

RYAN BUCKLAND - ECONOMIST, CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (CCI)
Ryan is an economist in CCI’s economics and policy team, which is one of the largest non-government policy and research teams in Western Australia. Ryan is responsible for a range of CCI’s regular economic publications, has been involved in the development of a range of policies including tax reform and productivity, and has authored a paper discussing the issues surrounding sovereign wealth funds.

ANGIE SPITERI - BUSINESS OWNER, TIME EQUALS MONEY
Angie Spiteri is a highly sought after productivity consultant and business coach who has conducted training programs for the government and some of the State’s largest public and private companies. Angie specialises in personal productivity and optimisation of time to meet conflicting demands. Angie has assisted businesses in boosting their daily productivity, implement business improvements and hit revenue targets using simple but effective techniques and habits.
