With the theme of Leading Safety in Changing Environments, the CME 2012 Safety and Health Conference builds on both the 2010 and 2011 conference themes. The 2012 conference theme focuses on the premise that efficient and effective management should be adaptive and foster collaboration between employer and employees to respond to a changing environment. In seeking to engage individuals, communicating the change is obviously a critical step. People need to progress from lack of awareness, to understanding, and finally committing to the vision. Having provided everyone with a reason to change, leaders are called upon to demonstrate the means to do so, identifying and removing obstacles to ensure the captured support can build momentum throughout the organisation.

Keynote speakers include:
* Sam Walsh AO: Chief Executive - Iron Ore & Australia - Rio Tinto
* Mark Cutifani: CEO, AngloGold Ashanti Ltd
* Jop Groeneweg; Assistant Professor, Unit of Cognitive Psychology and Unit of Psychometrics and Experimental Design; and Project Manager, Human Error - Centre for Safety Research, Leiden University, The Netherlands
* Mark Winterbottom - 2012 Ford Performance Racing Driver

Organiser:
Chamber of Minerals and Energy
