Charity fatigue hits cyclists on fundraising road

WA hosted 20 major charity bike rides during the past year, collectively raising about $10 million, but the numbers are set to fall.

Maybe not the rider enthusiasm waning as much as resistance to repeatedly tapping friends and business associates for donations.

The number of rides has increased over the years and there is a limited number of keen cyclists. If events are to grow they will need to widen their base and have events more catered to family and casual riders who have kids.
