A royal commission into banks is not the answer.

Banks need a clean up, not a clean out

The desire to bash the banks is understandable when some of their past behaviour is considered; but before the bashing goes too far, it is important critics know what it would mean to damage an important part of the Australian economy at a delicate point in the global economic cycle.

Credit card charges should be abolished by the banks. Payments with a credit card are secure, against payments with a cheque. A cheque can bounce, credit card payments are rejected at point of payment, only when there are not enough funds.

Maybe the banks should consider the damage they do to that important part of the economy called the people before they risk losing them completely too...

Australia
Banks are the ones that have plunged the world into this financial crisis purely due to their greed, if it was a company that was struggling they would cast it adrift as quick as they could. To this day they are fleecing all & sundry with charges, can you believe it takes 5 days to clear a cheque, I know we are all thought of as dills, but really we have no other options other than use the system. There are so many people that are asset rich that can get no support from banks and are told we need your exit plan ASAP, once you sell your assets (at a loss), then they tell you they are not really interested in helping yo or your company any further (sink or swim is their policy), as long as they are making excessive profits from the mugs like me out there they really don't care. Like everything these days it's all about being becoming wealth any way you can without scruples or ethics, I truley am glad that I'm at an age where in a few years I shall not have to continue to see a great country and people being no longer individuals but just serfs working for the gratification of others Life these days appears that most things you hear, see or learn have an angle for someone who is going to use it for exploitation. Last but not least there should be a Royal Commission into banking in this country, it will have far more reaching effects in relation to the well being of this country than some of the things politicians are concerned with at the moment Right I'm off my soap box now and off to bed
