Very sad to hear the passing of a great mentor early in my career Geoff Rasmussen. He was hands down one of the smartest persons, if not THE (smartest person) in WA that I have ever met. I was very lucky to be mentored by him early in my career (I was 23 when he was 28). Tough exterior with a HUGE heart!, super honest, disciplined, and best of all: A great teacher to many. The primary engine at GEM Consulting, Poynton and Partners and Azure Capital. Thank you, Geoff. You will be greatly missed. My prayers and thoughts are with his family and close friends. #gonetosoon #smartestguyintheroom

I didn't know him but sounds like a great man and a great loss for WA. He has obviously affected so many people for the better that his legacy will be strong. Long live Geoffs legacy in us all.

Sydney
I had the privilege of working closely with Geoff for most of 1998 when GEM was working with Bain in Sydney on a number of joint projects. I have told so many subsequent colleagues how that was the year I learned the most. Geoff had a razor sharp analytical mind but also a huge EQ and his insights were always profound. His work ethic was unmatched, he treated everyone with respect despite his superior talents and he had a strong moral compass. I would love to have worked more with Geoff but we still kept in touch over the years. I can't imagine the loss being felt by his family and colleagues. My thoughts are with them. RIP Geoff

Perth
Geoff was the complete package - mentor to many, sounding board, unmatched strategic thinker, hard worker, fun loving, honest, incredibly generous, always humble and underplayed his influence on key business decisions across many boardrooms in Perth. His high intellect will be sorely missed by all who sought his respected counsel. My deepest sympathies to Bronwyn and the kids. RIP a great friend - you will never be forgotten.

Perth
Sorry to hear the news about Geoff's passing after such a brave struggle. He had such an impact even after being diagnosed. I worked with him at Poynton Partners and found him to be a great mentor. A very sad loss.....condolences to his family for their great loss.
