This is utter nonsense. It will not happen - given the realities of CBD development in Perth - for many many years - if at all. In the meantime it will destroy accessibility and movement through and around central Perth. As well, it destroys the beautiful and iconic green forecourt "front garden " of the city, virtually giving away public land for private development. Not as great an idea as the government believes.

This one of the greatest endevours our city has seen and giving the enviroment for families to meet and entertain on the very rivers edge.Perth has missed so much opportunity without this as every other great and beautiful city in the world has a similar layout to this that thrive and give a fantastic social enviroment. How good is Perth now 7 day shopping river front cafe's welcome to the 21st century world.

Victoria Park
Where are the millions forecast to visit this "great endeavour" - all I see on the fly-through is a handful of people who will certainly not sustain the proposed cafes etc. Where are the shadows, can you see the inevitable wind blowing? This is all fairy floss. Since the establishment of Barrack Square you have always been able to get a cuppa or a drink by the river, 7-day trading is not responsible for that. We could still have something exciting without digging up the cool green grass and shady trees (what is left, that is). Don't know how old you are now, Glenn, but add on another 10 years at least (not 8 as claimed - think of the new stadium) and see where you are then - this is not going to be ready in a year or two.

I must admit - it looks fandamtastic !! BUT, I do hope the Planners & developers have thoroughly studied and observed the current daily traffic density patterns - and have made more than adequate alternatives during and post EQ's development, The fly thru show demonstrates no afternoon peak traffic - so where is it all ? magically gone, or has perth commuters finally decided to use PT - we finally got those 8 carriage trains !! I guess Riverside Drive is no more... which is another blessing for Perth, then lets all get fit, enjoy the new views and have a Riverside Walk.

Now all we need is the introduction of Daylight Savings so we can all enjoy the warmer months and keep the time difference between WA & East Coast at 2 hours

C'mon now Kerryn that's pushing it a little. Don't you remember daylight savings stops the cows producing milk and makes children anti social and is "cough, cough" proven to cause ill health due to the time shift.... :)
