Week night trading until 9pm increases competition which decreases pricing. Allowing working families to shop when it is convenient rather than in the times dictated to us by state governments and referendums. Just because it is a majority does not make it the best decision for the state. What will kick start our economy is expanding opportunities for people to spend their hard earned cash. It will create further employment for teenagers and people needing second jobs. The fact is that many shops will choose not to open due to lower turnover but many will stay open in convenient locations where there is significant after hours traffic through the shops. It is about time a government here did what they were elected to do, make the tough decisions that are the best decisions for our state. Maybe daylight savings can be done rather than pandering to a whole heap of people that hate change or want their sleepy state to stay that way......

I see the referendum has been ignored. Supermarket chains will increase margins and force others out of business. Typical Liberal policy.
