Wood Group wins Woodside contract

Engineering company Wood Group has won a $US6 million ($A7.9 million) contract to provide its services to Woodside Petroleum’s Greater Western Flank project in the North West Shelf.

This is the third GWF contract awarded to Wood Group, which is ranked as the fouth largest engineering firm in Perth, according to updated data in the BNiQ Search Engine.

Under the contract, Wood Group will provide engineering support for the subsea pipeline system during the fabrication and construction stages of the development, with work to be completed over 15 months, and starting immediately.

Wood Group recently completed engineering design and procurement work for the pipeline system.

“Securing the engineering support contract for GWF-2 builds on the technical solutions and global expertise Wood Group has already brought to this complex development,” Wood Group specialist technical solutions chief executive, Bob MacDonald, said.

“We have supported the project since the concept development phase and will leverage our experience and comprehensive understanding of it, as we continue to focus on the safe and efficient execution of our services.

“We are proud to have received recognition for our successful completion of the detailed engineering design and procurement activities for the development’s pipeline system.”

Woodside shares were 0.7 per cent higher to $31.14 each at 1:45pm.
