Valmec, WBHO secure Water Corp contracts

Engineering and construction group Valmec and Geraldton-based WBHO Infrastructure have secured infrastructure contracts with Water Corporation at its facilities in Western Australia.

Valmec said today it has secured three contracts worth about $14 million, including work for Water Corp at its operations.

Under the contract, Valmec will complete construction, fabrication and maintenance works for Water Corp at its Norseman and Bold Park operations.

The company has also been awarded a contract for commissioning support services for energy firm Jemena at both the Mount Isa and Phillip Creek compression facilities as part of the Northern Gas Pipeline project.

Valmec also announced a contract  to provide compression equipment overhaul and maintenance services for APA Group at its Sole Orbost project in Victoria.

The contracts are expected to commence immediately with the majority of the works scheduled for completion by early 2019.

“Leveraging our unique self-perform and end-to-end capabilities, which now includes asset integrity testing, Valmec remains well placed to participate in the significant upstream energy and infrastructure spending expected to be committed during FY2019.”

Shares in Valmec were up 1.61 per cent at 31.5 cents each at 1230pm AEDT.

Meanwhile, WBHO has been awarded a $10.8 million contract to build a 10.7 kilometre water supply main from a pump station along Edward Road in Meru near Geraldton, connecting to the existing water tank off Chapman Valley Road in Moresby. 

The main will improve water supply to Northampton and some northern Geraldton suburbs.  

The project will be carried out in two stages and is expected to be complete in late 2018.
