Tyranna/Alliance find new gold target at Wilcherry

Tyranna Resources’ partner Alliance Resources has identified a new gold target within the Wilcherry JV project in South Australia after re-assaying historic iron ore drill samples.

Re-analysis of all drilling carried out by Ironclad Mining between 2008 and 2012 at the Weednanna North prospect, returned 158 composite and split samples with gold results exceeding0.1 grams per tonne gold.

Better results were 8 metres grading 1.06g/t gold from 58m down-hole including 2m @ 2.81g/t gold, a wide 22 metre zone grading 0.34g/t gold from 42m that incorporated 2m @ 1.12g/t gold and 14m @ 0.5g/t gold from 78m, including 2m @ 1.02g/t gold.

Weednanna North’s geology is very similar to the Weednanna gold deposit, located 1300m to the south and the prospect appears to be in a similar structural position to that which hosts gold mineralisation at Weednanna. These structures have not been previously targeted for their gold potential.

Adding excitement, Alliance management said the broad zones of anomalism at the Weednanna North prospect are of similar width and grade to those observed at the Weednanna gold deposit adjacent to its high-grade gold shoots.

Alliance has marked this new prospect as a priority gold exploration target that warrants follow-up drill testing.

Alliance has a 79.01% stake in the Wilcherry JV project, whilst Tyranna hold the remaining stake.

Weednanna is located 105km west northwest of Whyalla and 40km north northeast of Kimba in the southern part of the Gawler Craton in South Australia in a region touted for its under-explored gold potential.
