Perth-based IT services firm Zetta has recruited Tim Shanahan as its new chair, as it continues to pursue acquisition opportunities.

Mr Shanahan’s appointment follows the retirement of former chair John Lillywhite, who spent three years with Zetta.

Managing director Nathan Harman said the group’s strategy was unchanged but it planned to be more active from an M&A perspective.

He said Zetta completed a small acquisition just before Christmas and was well advanced with two further transactions.

Zetta is the 12th largest ICT firm in Western Australia with 141 staff, according to the BNiQ database.

Its board includes Zetta’s co-founders – Mr Harman and new business director Jim Di Menna.

The fourth director is Sydney-based Merlin Allan, who spent more than a decade with ASX-listed SMS Management & Technology, mostly as director of M&A.

Mr Shanahan is chairman of WA Super, a director of RAC Holdings, chairman of the Cooperative Research Centre for Future Battery industries, and chair of WA SuperNet project, which seeks to bring enterprise level broadband to Western Australia's Wheatbelt.

He has previously held executive roles at the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of WA, the WA Local Government Association, and more recently the Energy and Minerals Institute at The University of Western Australia.
