Taylor-made future for Dôme

LAURA Taylor has been appointed CEO of the Dôme group as Dôme Coffees Australia consolidates its position in the Australian coffee market.

Mrs Taylor was franchise and operations service director for the South Pacific region of KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell owner Tricon Restaurants International – the world’s largest food service company with 30,000 outlets in 92 countries and sales in excess of $US20 billion

She oversaw 1,000 KFC and Pizza Hut stores.

Born in the US, Mrs Taylor joined Tricon, formerly a division of Pepsi Co, as area manager for Pizza Hut Australia in June 1986 and was promoted to acting managing director in Southern Africa in 1996.

During her 14-year tenure, Mrs Taylor was responsible for strategic product development, brand management and operational implementation.

Dôme Coffees founder and director Patria Jafferies said Mrs Taylor’s broad experience would be invaluable.

“Mrs Taylor joins Dôme Coffees at an exciting time for our company as we continue to develop our brand throughout Australia and internationally,” Ms Jafferies said.

“She is an individual who combines high level strategic experience with the functionality of hands on day to day operations.”

Mrs Taylor will shape Dôme’s business philosophy and management and, according to Ms Jafferies, will be a valuable mentor for Dôme’s growing staff. Dôme Coffees was founded in Perth in 1989 with the initial objective to import and roast coffees from around the world.

In April, Dôme Coffees announced an $18.5 million capital raising with partners GS Private Equity to fund its expansion throughout the eastern seaboard.

Dôme now has 59 outlets in six countries, including Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates and plans are under way for a further 50 outlets in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and New Zealand over the next three years.
