Vaughan Emery, founder of live event production company Corporate Theatre has moved into aviation following the sale of Corporate Theatre to Perth Audio Visual 18 months ago.
Emery's new operation, Arlington Group is bringing the latest generation Cirrus SR20 aircraft to Perth which will be based at Jandakot Airport.
It is planned to make the aircraft available for advanced pilot training via professional flying instructors after its arrival from the Cirrus factory in Duluth Minnesota USA later this month.
The new Cirrus features a fully digital Garmin cockpit, composite carbon-fibre construction and the unique Cirrus airframe parachute system - a safety device that can lower the aircraft to the ground in the event of an unexpected emergency.
Underlining the value of the airline style cockpit layout, Emirates Airlines recently announced the purchase of 22 Cirrus aircraft to be based in Dubai and used by cadet pilots as they train to become fully-qualified commercial pilots.
