Sydney-based hotel group StayWell Hospitality Group has confirmed it will bring its Park Regis brand to Western Australia after signing deal with developer Dradgin Pte to be part of the former Ace Cinemas site in Subiaco.

Scheduled to open in mid 2017, the 168-room hotel development will be the latest opening for the privately owned international group, which has a presence in Singapore, United Arab Emirates, India, UK and Indonesia via the Park Regis and Leisure Inn brands.

Earlier this month, Business News reported the hotel would be branded Park Regis and that construction by contractor Cooper & Oxley would restart shortly, after work stalled temporarily late last year as the developer sorted some minor financing issues.

StayWell Hospitality Group CEO Simon Wan told an audience in Subiaco today that Subiaco had long had an accommodation shortage.

The former Ace Cinemas site, at 500 Hay Street, which is branded as Subi XO, currently has two buildings under construction, the hotel and an A-grade office block, in a precinct that will also offer cinemas, public piazza, food court and retail areas.

Mr Wan said the hotel, which has been designed by Campion Design Group, would contain a range of premium accommodation options, a rooftop restaurant and bar, swimming pool, gymnasium and conference facilities.

Dradgin is a Perth-based private developer. Its representative in the market place is Lloyd Collins Property Consultants.
